The nursing profession is at a pivotal point in its history. Nurses have historically been at the heart of the healing process with the charge to promote the patient’s wellbeing in a holistic manner through compassion, commitment and thoughtful hospital administration. However, some may say that the original intention of nursing has gotten lost in the current medial system and the profession is declining. If current trends continue, the United States will be short 275,000 nurses by the year 2010. This session will outline the issues and explore solutions.

Learning Objectives:

-Recognize the unique contributions nurses make in the current medical system and how other practitioners can best embrace nurses as part of the team.
-Understand the personal and professional challenges nurses face as leaders as well as outline potential remedies.
-Discuss how nurses can help heal the current healthcare system and play a role in the new paradigm of integrative healthcare.
-Explore how nurses can infuse new life into the profession.
-Identify new roles and opportunities for nurses outside of the medical model as educators, healers, advocates and leaders both locally and globally.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You are purchasing the right to listen to this session in streaming format from a page on Integrative Practitioner's website. It is not a downloadable file.
